I don't like clutter and I probably spend too much time de-cluttering. I've accepted this about myself. So I'm always looking for ways to simplify things and satisfy my desire for order and organization. And, if I can make it a functional and beautiful solution?
**sly smile and nod**
Our keys, phones, wallets, etc... drive me bananas when they're strewn about my house. It put me over the edge last weekend so I found this tutorial and picked a favorite japanese print (plus mini-polka dots for the lining!) I love the result. And my husband (the worst offender in the house when it comes to strewn keys, wallets and business cards) has accepted this new system without any coaxing. Bonus.
I used batting for the lining, which ends up a bit droopy. The tutorial includes quilt batting as one of the suggested linings, but I think she used heavy interfacing for hers. Next time I would do the same.
Still. This is making life a little less cluttered and a little more beautiful in my house.
